Regrouping

This photo was taken on Thursday when I was on my way to the Stitching group at our LNS. Knowledge and Needles is located on a lovely country road and the colors are quite spectacular. They are early this year and probably they will drop fast because we haven't had much rain.
We do have a lot of maple in this region so lots of reds.It seems the only thing I stitched on this week of any significance is the Teapot, and that 's very little .
I had two other pieces that I worked on. One I had to take out because I didn't like the color and the other is the Christmas tree and I made a mistake so I need to take a little out. Not much but enough to be annoying.
I have a lot of pieces on the go And I have to regroup because I don't seem to get ahead. Does that happen to anyone else?
I know I need a finish.
Mind you I do have my biscornu done just need to stuff it. I did enjoy that stitch a lot.
The answer is to do some smalls. ...Oh yeah I have a couple on the go. Can't show them right now. But I will soon.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and get lots of stitching in.
I hope to do so tomorrow.
The castle has been worked on tonight. But I needed to catch up with all of you.

Stitching before Blogging

Well not any of the recent stitching to show so I thought I would share some things we did in the fall. Dani taught us how to make a CUBIT. Aren't they just the cutest. Mine are the Curling by Stitchopolis and the Star from a Magazine JCS , I think, I can always look it up.... My Mom did the 2 snowmen and Christin did the Kitty.
This is a fun way to finish a small piece. Dani has a tutorial on her Web page.
I have been doing some stitching that I will show after it has been sent and received. The Biscornu exchange.... It's coming along great.
Today I'm off to take my 2 dogs to the Groomer. I stay with them and help with the brushing and bathing.
They think they are at the Spa. So I don't tell them any different. They Love it there.
That will get them ready for winter....Yikes did I just say that. Brrrr.
Have a great day and Stitch with happy fingers.

It's so tough for them to get around but they managed. She was my DMIL's sister.
Stitching was on the back burner and so was blogging. I hope to catch up tonight.

Mom's Dutch People

I hope that you had a great weekend!!! Yesterday I worked on Lucky and finished the stitching on his wing. ...Can you see all the tiny Quarter stitches. Yikes. and I'm only 3/4 of the way through.
I took the photo this way So when I back stitch I can compare with and without BS.

The photo's of the Dutch people are being stitch by my 91 year young Mother, She received the chart from a Dutch friend who found it in a box with some very old things and gave it to my Mother. There will be 9 pieces in all and when she has Stitched them all I will make it into a Lap quilt for her.

We spent the day together at our house, after church in the AM and then dinner in the PM. We pretty much stitched all day and I took her home at 7. That seems to be our regular routine.
My DH enjoys her company so she always loves to come here.
I'm so lucky to still have her in my life and to stitch with !!!

My One and Only

The trip to Stratford s' wonderful. The play was called my One and Only and the main theme song was S'wonderful. And it was!!!!
The BB was very pretty and the lady of the house was from the Netherlands and is a cross stitcher.
The room we stayed in had a Australian theme and she had stitched the Aussie Houses.

I also managed to buy some fabric to do some finishes.

I did a little work on my teapot this afternoon at our Thursday stitching group at Ann's.
Always a lot of fun.

I hope to look in at some blogs tonight so I'll see you all soon!!!!
Happy stitching!

It's the wing in progress

Hi All !!
Well I finally had a weekend to stitch. Saturday I worked on the TW SAL and got a lot done as you can see. The colors are very bright.
The whole photo in on one of the previous posts so I thought a closeup of the wing where I'm working was in order.
Yesterday my Mom and I spent some time looking a mags. She was looking for a bit to put in with her stitching.

Hmmm......I will take a photo of her work next week and post it. She is amazing!

Tomorrow I'm off to Stratford On. Festival of Canada.
I go every year with a friend of mine to see a play. Always the musicals. This year it's Gershwins' "My One and Only"
Some of the music that we preform in our Jazz Choir. So it should be fun. This is my Mini holiday away.
This is our 12th year going. We stay in a Bed & Breakfast and come home the next day. 3hour drive one way. So the over night is wonderful. I am looking forward to it!
Thank you for all your lovely comments and I hope you all,
STITCH WITH HAPPY FINGERS.

Castle SAL [Lucky]

Hello everyone. First of all I'll tell you I survived all the laundry and stuff. Even went out for a nice lunch with Kathy.
We did some shopping and enjoyed some time together.

This evening I was able to spend some time on Lucky. He is looking good I think. I might spend a little more time on him this week to catch up . I know I'm running behind.
Even though a SAL is not a race I feel I need to move on with him. So.... this week a little extra.!!!

I have to go out of town tomorrow, so the day will be shot.
Hopefully the evening will be free to stitch up a storm. I won't even be able to go to the Thursday stitching group. Yikes...not good. Oh well you got to do what you got to do!!!!
Have a good day all!
Stitch with happy fingers.

The great Escape

Well I certainly had a busy weekend. My DH's son ,wife and 3 grandchildren were here from Friday evening until Monday afternoon. Oh yes and the dog.
It was noisy and hectic.
I don't have children and therefore no grandchildren..[DH has 3 kids & 7 grandkids]
It is fun playing at being Grandma, once in awhile.
I did no stitching at all accept when the kids went to see there real grandmother I was able to make the great escape to my friend Kathy's who was having a stitching get together with our Thurs. group and Dani came for the weekend to teach a tutorial. I was able to make it to watch them do a flat fold. I loved it and look forward to doing one of my own. I hope to do the Christmas Tree in that finish.
Now if I could just get at some stitching..... I washed sheets and towels all day.

Well I leave you with a photo you might get a kick out of.

Me at being a Grandma!!!

Off to try and do some stitching on my Castle it was
neglected this weekend.

Thank you all for the lovely comments and I hope you all had a very nice weekend.

I hope to have some stitching for you tomorrow!
