Coming along!

I've done a little on the page 3 of the Album of stitches so I know I must work on it over the rest of the week. Page 4 comes out the 1st of Mar. So I would like to have this one done. They give us 2 months for the next page and this time I left it to the end...oops!

This is why.....

Yup its the ICE KING DRAGON ...can't you tell?
I've been working on it...hard to believe how small the stitches are...25ct over 1.
This 1/3 of page 1...only 44&2/3 to go.

This little lady has had most of my attention on the weekend. She is so much fun to do.

Now I must say I have been very selfish and not s[ent so much time on the computer. When I do that I get lots of stitching done. I found I was on too many hours and wasn't getting much else done so I've cut back on that a bit.
So I'm reading many blogs but not always taking the time to comment..SORRRRRY. I'll try and do better.
I'm also practicing 3 times a week for choirs and also working on the music at home. I seem to have less time now then I did when I was working...hmmm maybe I managed my time better then. I seem to put things off so I can stitch. ???? Am I addicted ???? do I need help??? NOT!

HAPPY DANCE Page 2

Well this is a fun page .The colours are wonderful. mostly DMC shades of cream and Grey.
The main colour is Water lilies Prairie-Fire...oh it is so gorgeous IRL
It's pretty hard to take a good picture but you get the idea. The main stitch is called Scotch- Switch.
I like the pinwheels. I used 2 different colours on each one.
The page also has some sparlies and beads to add pazazz!

I have the next page to work on and I think it will be purple and mauve.

White christmas is fun to work on too. She had some attention this weekend so it's coming along. I did have to frog her neck because I was out by one stitch. I'm almost back to where i was. The needle marks the spot. So I'm close!
See you all soon and stitch with happy fingers.
We are in another snow storm so We'll huncker down and stitch...aw thats too bad isn't it ? LOL

Catch up time

Remember the tree costume? Well this is what we did with it. Carol a friend of mine joined in singing Christmas carols at the retirement home where my Mom lives we had a ball and the folks loved it. She pranced around in her tree for the first bit and we sang O Christmas Tree....How cool is that?

While she went to change we sang a medley of Carols, and had all of the residents singing there hearts out.

About 4 years ago I decided to try some Swedish weaving...whoops I ran out of yarn. I couldn't find any so I left it forgotten. One day I decided to try and find the yarn and only found some on eBay after much looking and waiting .We bought 8 balls of it on eBay and 4 weeks later we still didn't get it so my DH got in touch with the lady who sold it to us and promptly credited our card.....but no yarn. It was no longer available in any store even the company no longer made that colour. So once again left and forgotten. Then one day Terry was looking in a magazine rack that had some old papers in it and lo and behold a Walmart bag with 2 balls of yarn that I had purchased at the time. I DID buy 3 balls and didn't remember. Boy to get old.(! @&*$), Anyway we had a good laugh and things happen for a reason ...now I'm working on it again. HA!
As you can see I have 1/2 of the page 2 finished on the JD album of stitches I picked it back up after I did a few Ornaments.

This is one of the ornies. I can't show the other one yet.

Well folks I wish all of my readers the best of the season and stay safe and warm.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
MERRY CHRISTMAS, from our house to yours.

Want to have a laugh?

This is me wearing a Christmas Tree costume.
I don't intend to be seen wearing this in public but a friend of mine is going to. The lights aren't working so my DH is trying to fix them.
This is going to be a part of our extra little Coral group that will be singing at my Mom's retirement home...We will be Caroling for them on the 16th and one of our brave singers will be dressed in this Tree costume. I love it!!!!.... what a hoot!

This is a update on my bit of stitching I've done on the album of stitches page 2.
Not much yet but it is pretty. This is actually black as you know it doesn't photograph well.

With all of the singing and the decorating I seem to have lost time to stitch. Also a bit of secret stitching going on!!!

Off to rehearsal tonight so farewell and stitch with happy fingers!

Page One...

First of all THANK YOU all for such a wonderful response to BLING being finished!!!! I was overwhelmed by all of your kind comments.

And now I have another finish...page one of the Album of stitches by Jennette Douglas
I am so pleased with the results. Working on 32ct black evenweave with lovely variegated threads , beads and Krenik.

I wish I could take a better photo but the black seems to be hard to show up. It looks a bit grey but believe me it's black. and tiny.

Because I had a couple of finishes I decided to treat myself to a new start.
This is the chart that Tracy [Teejay] gifted me last month and I bought some wonderful white opalescence even weave. so far so good...

I really must get to bed now it's late and I'm tired. I have to sing tomorrow and I need to practice a bit in the morning.

Stitch with happy fingers.

Another week

I was so excited to get the last 2 flip- it's for the Christmas spirit by Lizzy Kate I dropped everything and stitched the next one...3 to go yippee.
The colours are looking better and better as I go.

I've gotten a bit more done on the JD album. I have 2 more rows to do and then I will finish the writing and add the rest of the beads. The next page is in, so... I really should get this done.

This is page 7 on the PL and I worked on it on my regular day[Wed] this week.

So there you go, my bit of stitching that I had to show you.

I hope you stitch with happy fingers and see you all soon!

Show and Tell.

It seems to me I have done a lot of stitching this week.

Bling is on the home- stretch. She got some back stitching this week. Black on black is a bit tough but it's getting there.

8 flips done on Christmas spirit 4 to go. I'm waiting for them to come in the end of the month. This will definitely be done for Christmas.

Paradigm Lost has 6 pages done and 6 to go so the halfway mark has been reached.

Finally I must say this Jeanette Douglas Album of stitches is soooo much fun. It is slow going because most of it is over one on 32 count black lugana. But the results are so pretty. This page is the Mosaic stitch. There is a lot of bling and beads will go on it as well. Page one is a light green and blue blend. DMC veragated thread 4060.

Have a great week and stitch with happy fingers.

A bit of Bling!

I fell like I have left Bling in the back porch for a while. So I asked her to forgive me and what does she do???? Yup she made me do a bit of frogging just to get even. I'm not sure the mistake was made the last time I stitched on her. But we are even now. I won't leave her that long again.
The JD Album of stitches is sooooo much fun to do and pretty tricky as well. It does take a bit of concentration but look at the results...I LOVE IT!
This photo is a bit fuzzy because I wanted to get up close so you can see the sparkels in row 2.
There is NO cross stitch in this this is the Mosiac stitch ...hmmmm different but pretty.
Ann and I are working on the black 32ct... the rest of the ladies are working on neutral shades and some on a larger count!
They are all beautiful. Ann will be posting there progresses on her blog as we meet every 2 weeks to enable each other.

I hope you all have a good week and take care. Thank you for your lovely comments.
Stitch with happy fingers...see you soon.

Where did it go....

This week just flew by. I actually thought I hadn't accomplish much but I guess I did.....
I finished the Ornament from the Just cross stitch Christmas preview mag. I need to make it into an ornament yet ...soon.

Next I put some stitches in the Nordic Angel. As you can see here her dress is finished, now it's the apron. Yikes!!! lots of white and gray.

Jeanette Douglas has put out a chart for an Album of Stitches...I decided to do this on black Lugana...yup BLACK...I know I'm nuts but boy will it be pretty.
I started it this Saturday. Oops sorry Bling I left you behind for a week. I promise I'll get back to her.

The picture is of page 1 and it has 8 pages and a front cover and a back cover. The picture I took of mine is a little gray. But believe me it's BLACK.

The first page is done with the Mosaic stitch.
Pretty small on 32ct but it is so pretty.
All the pages will be a different colour.this one is pale green and blue!

Ann and I spent an afternoon at her store and put all the colours together for 10 of us to start page one. Yes you heard me right there are ten of us that bought the charts and are going to learn how to make all these wonderful stitches. We will get together once a week. Maybe even some of you will be encouraged to join us. she has a few chartsleft and can order more!!!!!

Well I had better get caught up on my blogging .I seem to have gotten away from it. Sometimes I just want to STITCH.
Also the singing starts tonight.

So two nights a week are taken up with singing..how did I ever find time to work.
Stitch with happy fingers!
