All about Mom

This is about my Mom Adriana.

Some of you have met her or have seen some photo's of her on my Blog.
She is an inspiration and I'm so blessed to have her so close to me . I see her often and we stitch together at least twice a week.
The best part she is 92. (93 in Aug). She had eye surgery in Dec. and Jan. and now once again can see very very well. She had Cataracts removed. She stitched right up to the day of the surgery and very soon after. We got her a pair of cheaters. to tie her over.

This is what she has stitched since then. She received this kit from my SIL and couldn't wait to start. I think it was late Jan.

This is.... A Gold Collection Dementions Kit. " Holiday Village" by Nicky Boehme,
the fabric is 16ct Aida , the finished piece is 12" X 16"

She finished it today.

Isn't it just the most beautiful piece?
I'll be taking it in next week to have it framed for her.
She'll help pick out the frame I'm sure.

I needed to share this with you because I love her .

Stitch with happy fingers.

About my Mothers stitching

Most of you know that my Mom is a fabulous Stitcher and has been for many years. she just turned 92 this summer and is well and healthy. She had a pacemaker replacement last week and is having Cataract surgery this week, and then again in 3 weeks... one eye at a time. She is strong and excepts this wholeheartedly.
But in the mean time she wanted to finish some of the pieces she has been working on because her eyesight will be impaired for a few weeks.

The Christmas and New year heart was a chart that was given to her and she finished it COMPLETELY herself. I gave her the supplies and she puttered away on it and showed it to me on the weekend.

Sunday was a day of finishing for her.
This little banner is one of the ones I helped her with. She no longer uses a sewing machine so I did the cutting and stitching . It turned out so sweet. These were little charts from a magazine.
The fabric is perfect for this with the pretty little stars on it. The back is finished with the same fabric.

This is also one we put together on sunday.
Yup we were busy but the results are wonderful! This is a chart that she recieved from a friend from a very old magazine. It was torn out of it and there was only the one page so I have no idea who it is by.
I have been stitching as well but you know what ... this is about my Mom !!!
Stitch with happy fingers and have a good day.

Adriana ....My Mom

Last week I received an E-mail from Thea of Victoria Sampler.
She had heard from Ann of Knowledge and Needles who nominated my Mother as stitcher of the week on Thea's news letter. Thea is the owner of this store and has started to post a weekly stitcher. She has been in touch with me a few times and I shared some photo's with her which she posted.
This is the link for the story about my Mother. Please have a look at this lovely website and blog.

Thea did a nice job of telling this story. Thank you Thea my mother is thrilled.

I have to say thank you to Kathy A. She stopped by today and brought me a Birthday gift.
This is so neat. It is a "needle roll kit " . Isn't that amazing. Here we are talking about this site and low and behold Kathy brings me a gift designed by "The Victoria Sampler." It is the August birthstone and birth flower chart. I love it.
Thank you so much Kathy.

I also want to thank all the well wishers for my Birthday. What a lovely gift to know I have so many on line stitching friends. This has been a great year and I treasure all of you as good friends!!!

This weekend I managed a bit of work on Bling the Moonlight Guardian.
It's coming along. Dani has hers finished and it is gorgeous .

I also started a little piece that will have a jungle theme for my bathroom. The little charts are from a Cross stitch crazy magazine Sept 2007.
I needed a small stitch to work on other than pumpkins....still working on those. lol.

Have a great day and stitch with happy fingers!
