Remember

Do you remember my SAL last year? Well I started it on a linen that I didn't enjoy working on Soooo.... I stopped and Dani found me a wonderful piece of Lugana that worked much better.

I mentioned it to the ladies at my Thursday stitching group and told them I was going to make the small section into a Bookmark. I thought that was a good Idea.
Marie-Paule....one of the ladies called me at 8 am the next day and said she didn't sleep all night thinking about me cutting up my fabric, Oh dear I felt so bad.
She asked me not to cut it and to bring it to her. She was going to do something with it for me.
She has a sewing machine that does amazing designs and yes this is one of them.
After Christmas she told me she had a Christmas card for me and this was it.
IT IS GORGEOUS!
She made this cushion for me and I LOVE it!!!!
She even added some hand sewn beads and some embellishment in the bow.
You are an amazing lady Marie-Paule...Thank you so much.

I'm sorry to say she does not have a blog but she has a wonderful ability to make things beautiful.
Moonlight Guardian has since then been finished and is at the framer getting a nice frame.

She's Finished

Well folks here she is BLING Finished.

You know..being as I took a break from the computer I was able to do lots of stitching.
I was finding I was not only blogging but gameing and face booking and NOT stitching sooooo thus the break.
I will now get caught up on the comments on your blogs and browse around. I need to limit myself a bit.
I've also been walking every day . I'm up to 40 min. I was never a walker because my job [barber] had me on my feet for 8-10 hours a day. Now that I'm retired I've been on my butt that long. I've put on a bit of weight and am trying to lose some of that as well. I'm down 4lbs...not much but at least it's down!

I don't know what hit me this week , But I decided I needed to take out a few UFO's and have a look at one I will finish..The Nordic Angel won. She is really very pretty and I do love this chart by Barbara Baatz. I've had it floating around for over a year. So here is my progress .



I also worked on the MG. This is very interesting to work on. I'm needing a magnifier to see the holes. The color makes it hard to see. It's not real dark just different!

My BFF Kathy was here yesterday and stitched with my Mom and I. It was so good to see her. We even stitched together today at Ann's and will stitch tomorrow at Judie's.
We needed to catch up with one another. It was fun. She stitches alone in Yuma . No stitchers there.

I'm off to the choir practice tonight. Boy the weather is bad again. I'm getting a lift from a couple that are members as well . I'm glad I don't have to drive, it's snowing again!

First of all I want to thank everyone for the lovely comments on my blog.
I had no Idea so many folks were reading my blog and I am flattered.

My next SAL is the Dragon Dreams Moonlight Guardian and I have a little of the border done,
Blue never shows real well on the photos but it is pretty close. This has lots of krenik and beads so it will be fun!
The PL is a wonderful stitch and as I said on the SAL blog it is Therapeutic. I really enjoy it.

It's a new Year and a New Start

I started a SAL with Dani and Christin. It was to start Jan 1/08. But I had to wait for the fabric which I received from Dani today. It is the Moonlight Guardian by Dragon Dreams.
Soooooo.... Here it is... started!!!
I also did some work on the PL yesterday..

I was so impressed I want to share it with my Blogging friends.

Here is the quilt I made for Mom with her stitched Dutch people.
That is just to much fun. I love that she shared it with us!!!

Stash for Moonlight Guardian

Last weekend at the retreat I managed to pick up the rest of the fibers that I needed for the Moonlight guardian by Dragon dreams.




I had bought the chart in the summer when I was asked to join Christin and Dani in a SAL starting Jan.1st 2008.









Christin the enabler [thanks again] sent me a bundle of specialty threads to start the kit and my Fabric is on order so it will be here on time!










This is week4 of PL and I hate to put it down.


I'm going to stitch with the ladies of the Thursday Group today...teapot day.
I hope the weather holds out. It's been freezing rain and a bit of snow. -3*c. I have choir practice tonight so I hope I can go there as well!

Wow !!! What a surprise

Wow ,,, when I came home from work this evening I had a surprise waiting for me!!!
Christin has once again enabled me. And sent a wonderful gift.
A package of specialty thread for a SAL that we will be starting on Jan.01/08.
I am overwhelmed by her Generosity . The threads are lovely.

I have added a photo of the chart I purchased.this summer..It is the MOONLIGHT GUARDIAN by Dragon Dreams. Isn't he cute I love Dragons so it will be so much fun.
I'm off to work on Lucky my TW castle so it will be finished before I start this one.
